On self-actualization as Magick!
“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.”
Who were the authors of history, what did these great men of the past have in common that set them apart from the rest? Ah…certainly they all produced work of great significance, but what made it so? I say it is not enough to merely look at what they produced for the answer. We must look at these mages themselves, for it was within them-selves where they found the immortal truths which they presented as gifts to this world without pretense, so that you and I should benefit from their toil.
Within them we find unwavering individualism and a lust to expand the dimensions of self in a way reminiscent of a mountain goat leaping to the summits of the loftiest mountains, inherent in each of their being-ness we may find the Pride of Satan. As in the story of Amalthea who wrested against the onslaught of Titans and overcame them, these men too overcame the insurmountable. Almost as if they were fitted from birth with divine providence.
How can I ever achieve self-actualization, if I do not know who I am? Herein lies the secret. “Know thyself” as the Hermeticist affirms. The first step upon the path then is surely to gain this knowledge of self and to proclaim “I am” and after to fashion ourselves a vehicle, with which to explore the unexplored. Perhaps even become great men in our own rights and plant our flags upon the landscape of history.
So, pit yourself against them and strive towards this truth, let the strength of your unconquerable-self take a step forward and spit upon them and their ideals of conformity; for they advocate the nature of slavery, and we are not slaves, we are Stars!
“Love is the law, love under will.”
